Italy's HATEWORK Calls It Quits
October 6, 2007Italian thrash/hardcore act HATEWORK has officially split up. "This decision coincides with the release of '...The Actual Worst Has Come', our best-of album, which we would have loved to be the beginning of 12 more years filled with beer and rock'n'roll on stages throughout Europe," the band writes in a statement.
The group continues, "The reasons behind this decision are mainly personal: 2007 was a year of drastic changes and problems on a personal level, and some of these put limits to the band in terms of artistic direction. So, we think it's better to stop now and concentrate on what used to be just projects like WETDOG and UL MIK & LONGOBARDEATH band.
"I assure you we'll meet again at some gigs!!! Music will always be one of the priorities on our lives... Maybe that's the reason behind us taking a break, for the moment, with HATEWORK.
"We take our chance here to thank all labels, magazines & fanzines, promoters and most of all you, frends and fans, who always supported us since 1996!"
HATEWORK's second LP, "Thrash 'n' Roll", was released in 2004 via Beer City Records.
